The walk between the Botanical Garden and the Tropical Garden is incredibly rewarding. If you're starting from the Cable Car Station in Funchal, you can begin the hike as soon as you reach the top by heading to the right. Most of the hike is easy and straightforward, following the famous Levada dos Tornos. Along the way, you'll pass through the abandoned hotel complex, Chopana Hills, adding a unique element to the experience.

The only challenging part is the final stretch, which involves a steep 20-minute descent that can be tough on your knees. To reduce strain, I recommend walking in a zigzag pattern down the road. The stunning views and the peaceful nature experience, as you walk through the valley and alongside the levada, make this hike truly worth it.
