Good To Know

This hike is our absolute favorite in Madeira. Honestly, we've lost count of how many times we've done it! The reason? It’s a loop trail and can be completed in about 2 hours if you really push yourself—1 hour of flat walking and 1 hour uphill.

The route partially follows the famous PR10 from Ribeiro Frio to Portela but veers off at one point, looping back to Ribeiro Frio. Most of the trail winds through the enchanting Laurisilva forest, giving you an incredible boost of nature’s energy.

Like many hikes on the island, it’s become more popular and, unfortunately, more crowded in recent years. Still, it’s absolutely worth it, offering fantastic views at certain points and a truly memorable experience.
