Good To Know
Located in the charming village of Calheta, this golden stretch of Moroccan-imported sand is a west-coast gem on Madeira Island. Perfect for soaking up the sun, splashing in the Atlantic’s crystal-clear waters, or just lounging in style.
Opened in 2004, Calheta Beach is Madeira’s first-ever artificial beach, complete with two protective breakwaters and enough sand to make you forget your worries. It’s a hotspot for water sports enthusiasts, from kayaking to windsurfing, thanks to warm waters and perfect conditions.
Add free access, sunbeds, umbrellas, a bar, changing rooms, and first-aid facilities, and you’ve got the ultimate beach day.
