Plaza Madeira

This is the new church for young people. A place where you can spend all your hard-earned money on stuff that you really don't need but it makes you happy anyways. It was inaugurated in 2007 and was the first Portuguese shopping center to be designed using bioclimatic architecture (we have no idea what this means but damn that sounds cool - wants you to go right in and spend some more of that hard-earned money right :-) It was the spanish group "Chamartín Imobiliaria"who built it for a whupping 67 Million Euros. Peanuts if you ask us, and they called it "La Dolce Vita Funchal".

Appereantly it wasnt so much Dolce Vita after all and they sold it in 2015 and the name was changed to "La Vie" but nope again it was soled in 2023 and now it is called "Placa Madeira". But that all doesnt matter at all. What does matter is, that it has currently 71 diffrent shops, a 5 Star Hotel, a big food corner and impresive 900 parking spots.

So all in all it is wearth checking out.
